Counsellor in Balham, Wandsworth, South West London
**** Please note that I currently do not have any availability to take on new clients****
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist/counsellor and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I provide one to one counselling and psychotherapy for adults and children both online and at The Family Treatment Service in Wimbledon Village which is conveniently located to serve the surrounding areas of Tooting, Clapham, Wandsworth and Streatham.
Most of us encounter difficulties at points in our lives and I understand that we can find ourselves struggling to cope with our feelings and experiences. Whatever it is that you are struggling with, talking things through can help you to better understand and cope with life's complexities.
What can I offer you?
I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and change, and I aim to facilitate this by providing you with a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space in which you can talk in confidence about the difficulties that you are experiencing. This can offer relief from emotional distress, as well as increased self awareness and new understanding, which creates an opportunity for positive change.
I have been practicing for many years and I am experienced in working with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Relationship issues
- Stress and burn-out
- Anger
- Loss and bereavement
- Addiction
- Complex trauma and dissociation
- Perinatal depression and anxiety
- Parenting and parenthood
- Mental health diagnoses, such as Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and Bipolar Affective Disorder
Also providing counselling for children and adolescents
I am also an experienced school counsellor and have extensive knowledge and experience of working therapeutically with children and adolescents through the mediums of play, creative work and talk. Some of the problems that I have helped children with include:
- Bullying
- Anxiety
- Self-harm
- Parental separation and divorce
- Transitions - including the transition from primary school to secondary school
- Bereavement
- Relationships
- Exam pressure and stress
- Behavioural issues
Further information on how I work with children and what I offer can be found on my counselling children page.
My work is not limited to the above issues, and I strongly believe that each of us is unique and brings with us a unique life experience and way of seeing the world. I aim to value this in my work by honouring your or your child's individuality and working alongside you or them without judgement or interpretation.
